Q. My kittens are scratching up our living room furniture and I don't know what to do to make them stop. Can you help me with this problem?
 
Yes. Open the PDF file at the left under 'Cat Behavior Advice' titled 'Destructive Scratching.' You will find information to help you understand why cats scratch, and more important, a number of ideas about coping with this frustrating issue. Q. My new dog is so timid. He seems to be afraid of everything. Is there anything I can do to help him gain more courage?
