Q. I want to adopt a cat. Do I just come down to the cat shelter and pick one out that I like?: The best place to view and socialize with the the cats available for adoption is to attend one of our adoption events at the local pet stores listed on this page. Volunteers familiar with the animals are on site during the adoption events to answer all your questions and help you with the adoption process.

You are also welcome to visit our adoptable cats, but please call ahead to make an appointment to visit the Cat Shelter, so we can be ready and available to help you. Go to our Adoption page to get full information about adopting a kt ten or adult cat.
Q. Can I stop by the dog shelter after work and adopt a dog a dog to take home?

People interested in adopting a dog are welcome to stop by the dog shelter during OPEN hours to view the animals available for adoption. However, we follow an adoption process that will require several days to complete. It is best to chat with us by phone first, and then make an appointment to come by the Dog Shelter where you can find out how to adopt a loving, companion animal waiting for a 'Forever' home. Go east or west on WA State Highway Route 14 to Washougal. Turn south at 32nd Street exit into the Industrial area of the Port. You will be heading toward the Columbia River and Capt. William Clark Park
Turn right onto Index Street
Stay left to stay on Index Street. Do not follow road when it curves tot he north/right.
Destination is on the right. Dog shelter is first gray block building. Cat shelter is gray double-wide manufactured home.
